So I took some time before making this post to really think about what the President said during the SOTU. We all know that our country is slowly recovering and that we would like for things to be much better . But the reality of it all is that is still work to be done. I noticed that the "glow" of the President isn't the same, but I think people forget that the US isn't a dictatorship. The president must work hand and hand with Congress in order to get things done.
But that can't be achieved if Congress continues to make stupid decisions like voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act 40 something times. I know there are plenty of people who don't like the law, but its better then what we had and to this day, NO ONE from either party has provided an alternative...so lets stop wasting time and money and just rock with it. Of course suggestions and changes will happen along the way, but I think its safe to say the US won't fall from our great graces to because of this law.
To me, the speech sent a reminder to America that this is the land of opportunity and we as a nation must be willing to help each other in order to succeed. So that means, not waiting on the government to force you to pay your employees better and that Congress needs to jump on the band wagon and pass the now unfunded unemployment insurance for those who need it. This must be the year to get active and take action, because only together can we make achievements that will help generations to come.
(ps. I can't take VP Biden!! lol #weak)
