Suited: How to dress professional while on a budget 101

As I transition from a college student to working professional, I have found that dressing for corporate America while attempting to stay stylish can be somewhat...tricky. Working in an "conservative" environment does nothing but complicate the matter. Therefore I came up with this rule:
                  | If it can't be worn both at work and out on the town, it can't be bought... |
Now don't take this to the extreme, I simply mean, at this stage of your life most of your clothes need to play a dual role in your closet. So this outfit is what I wore to work and is a mix-match of things.

Choker | Juicy (choker)
Gold Chain Necklace | vintage
Watch | Michael Kors
Suit jacket | Nine West
Basic Black Tank
B&W Pattern Pant | H&M
Suede Pump | Steve Madden

Nothing that I have on is super expensive, yet it creates a cohesive look that will work for any work place. You have to find the shapes and styles that compliment you shape and your wallet. While the suit jacket is formal, the tank and pants can be worn over and over again at many different occasions. Figuring out if item ABC can play a dual role in your closet is the hard part.
Once you get it on, well...
all you can do is be stylish in a room full of ordinary.

xx.
